Anime: Inu-Yasha
Inu-Yasha is a half-demon with an ominous reputation. He searches for the Shikon no Tama,
or the "Jewel of Four Souls", for reasons of his own. Fifty years ago (before Kagome's arrival),
the priestess Kikyo stopped him from gaining the jewel by impaling him to a tree with a magic
arrow. It seems he had deep feelings for her, feelings she cannot return since she believes he
betrayed her. Lady Kaede has placed an obedience spell on him, which Kagome has control over.
He is the son of a famous demon and a mortal woman, and has a full-demon half-brother,
Sesshô Maru. Being a half-demon, Inu-Yasha has 'his time of the month' where he reverts
temporarily to a vulnerable mortal body: the new moon. His feelings for Kagome are a strange
combination of scorn and... affection?
